CEO
Akin Thomas is the founder and CEO of AKD Solutions. Akin’s early career was in local government, including senior management roles in complaints management and regulatory registration and inspection. He left local government in 1997 and spent a number of years involved in start ups in but his passion and skills were in learning and development.
Akin founded AKD Solutions in 2008 because he is hugely enthusiastic about empowering people to connect to their “best me”, hence the organisation’s mantra “Stimulating Brilliance”.
Akin works closely with C-Suite and Board members, where he is invited to support organisational change through disruptive and transformational experiences. Akin has particular interest and expertise in leadership and management development, customer experience and cultural change. He has experience across a range of industries including finance, transportation, sports and retail. He has worked with clients that include Toyota, the Elizabeth Line, UK Sport, Rio Tinto, Lafarge Holcim, Warner Brothers and Sony PlayStation.
Akin was the co-creator of ACE a model of development for organisations that genuinely want to create greater diversity and equity. He is currently developing the concept of “disruptive learning” in which he explores how to learn forward and not backward, to enable individuals and organisations to create their best possible future.
